Menu & Chef's Special
09Is Balinese food super spicy?
Not necessarily. We cook with base genep, the traditional Balinese herb paste, which creates deep, complex and layered flavours rather than sheer heat. Many of our signature dishes are smoky, sweet and aromatic.
11What is the Chef's Special?
The Chef's Special changes monthly and is available in limited quantities, crafted fresh from our grill daily. See this month's special.
12What do groups of 8 or more eat?
Large groups dine from our set menus — The Bali Feast, The Fire Feast or The Royal Banquet — for a smooth, abundant dining experience. See the set menus.
Dietary, allergies & halal
13Can you cater for allergies?
Because we work with traditional Balinese spices, charcoal fire cooking and shared kitchen equipment, some allergies may be difficult for us to safely accommodate. If you or someone in your group has a severe allergy, please contact us before booking so we can understand the level of risk carefully and honestly. For severe allergies involving seafood, shellfish or peanuts, or cross-contact concerns, we may recommend not dining from our kitchen for health and safety reasons. We are always happy to discuss flexible arrangements so families and groups can still enjoy the evening together — message us on WhatsApp.
14Is KKO KKO halal?
Our chicken and beef are sourced from halal-certified butchers. Our kitchen is not halal-certified, and we also serve pork.
15Do you have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes?
Yes. Dishes are marked GF (gluten-free), V (vegetarian) and VG (vegan) on our menu. Please tell us about any dietary needs when you book.

What makes us different
22What makes KKO KKO different?
Real wood-charcoal cooking — our smoky depth comes from grilling over real wood charcoal embers, never liquid smoke. Our head chef honours traditional Balinese techniques with premium local Australian ingredients, served in a hidden dining room behind a simple arcade curtain, with hospitality that feels human.
